The Salvation Army Austin operates two shelters for families with children who are experiencing homelessness, The Rathgeber Center for Families and The Austin Shelter for Women and Children. In addition to basic necessities like shelter and daily meals, many other services are provided on-site to help support these families as they work to regain self-sufficiency. Families living in our shelters are not able to afford the proper clothing or supplies to start school this fall.  To relieve this burden, The Salvation Army ensures that all the children living with us have the correct school supplies to begin the new school year with the same excitement and readiness as every other child. Our community makes this possible!
